A Tag for Ellen

Aren't the 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist over at Ellen Hutson just fabulous and inspiring??!!!  So many wonderful techniques yielding 12 awe-mazing tags!   I thought I'd join the fun with a tag of my own, using some ideas inspired by Kittie Caracciolo's tag... and our 2 furry critters.  Last fall we adopted a very personable cat whose favorite member of the family is our 14 year old yellow lab. They go out together on winter nights, which is a good thing:  old Jackson's coat is so light that he almost disappears in the low light of a white landscape, so having his dark-coated little companion, Catty Kay, helps us keep track of him.

For my tag, I used a  deep blue curved rectangle as the base, cutting out a circle for the moon and backing it in white.  I stamped and white embossed the birch trees and sentiment, adding a slightly curved strip of white with a woodgrain impression, trimmed it to fit the tag, and sparkled up with Stickles.  The dog, cat, and red bow were cut with Memory Box dies, but to make the cat's red collar, I die cut the cat again in red and just trimmed up a bit of the red tail. I colored the branch in front of the moon with a dark gray marker and shined up the red star with Glossy Accents.  Thanks so much for looking!
